Transportation In The Breathtaking City of Amsterdam
First things first, let’s talk about transportation. While there are a few ways to get around Amsterdam, the best option is to hire a bike and join in with the locals. The average price for a bike is 10 euros a day, with multi-day rates as low as 8 euros. Alternatively, you can grab a travel chip card for 7.50 euros a day which will give you access to all public transport in the Netherlands. However, one of the popular OV-fiets bike-sharing system is not recommended as the one-way system and heavy traffic makes it a bit of a hassle.
Streets of Breathtaking City of Amsterdam
Amsterdam is one of the most picturesque cities in the world and getting lost on its streets is one of the best things you can do here. There’s something new to discover with every turn. Our favorite spot is the Nearest fascist, an area in the heart of the city that’s made up of 9 small streets that straddle the canals. It’s known as Amsterdam’s most picturesque micro-neighborhood and it’s full of vintage clothes stores, bakeries, and cafes. You absolutely have to check this place out, even if it’s just for a few photos.
Street Food In Amsterdam
Holland is famous for its street food, particularly when it comes to baked goods and sweet treats. The stroopwafel, a waffle made with two thin layers of dough and filled with caramel syrup, is their staple. The most traditional and handcrafted stroopwafels can be found in Confectionery Lunchroom. We were able to go behind the scenes here and see how they’ve been making this iconic treat for generations. If you’re not a big fan of caramel, head to Van Stopple, just a couple of doors down, where you’ll find the best cookies you’ll ever try. They’re double chocolate on the outside and stuffed with white chocolate on the inside, and they taste incredible.
Famous Anne Frank House
Along the canals, you’ll find many interesting attractions. From the famous Anne Frank House and the Flower Market to the more bizarre like the Cat Museum, which is fun to explore but also a bit creepy. It’s filled with artwork, ornaments, and even personal letters written to the cats that live there. You’re free to interact with the cats as you walk around. There are also many coffee shops around this area where you can chill out and relax.
Heineken Experience in Breathtaking City of Amsterdam
If you’re a fan of beer, you should definitely check out the Heineken Experience. The tour costs 18 euros and takes about two hours. At that price, you’ll also get two tokens to enjoy ice-cold beers in their bar and an additional beer during the tour. You’ll learn all about the history of the brand and see how they make and bottle their special brew. There’s even an option to print your own label and take home a personal bottle of Heineken.
